“It’s time to make a change. It’s time to do something to get the players a wake-up call,” Atlanta coach Craig Ramsay said after they lost against the Washington Capitals. Alex Ovechkin brought the Capitals the early lead when he scored with 1:30 into the game. The remained of the game like playing catch-up by the Thrashers who got close and tied in the second period but were scored on twice during the last period. To coach Ramsay this was because his team cannot keep another team of the board after they score. “We made it 3-2 and then coughed one right back up.”
With this win the Capitals are at an NHL-best 9-1-0 at home but are not looking to slow down. “We don’t want to win games 6-4.” Coach Bruce Boudreau said. “We don’t want this reputation and that we want to be able to shut teams down. Right now we’re doing it for two periods and we’re having little brain cramps and it’s costing us. But there’s 60 some games left, hopefully by then we’ll have learned how.”
