“We’ve all got to give more effort,” Inter Milan captain, Javier Zanetti, stated after they lost their fourth game trying to qualify for the Champions League. “Lately we’ve been missing half our squad and that’s not easy. But we still have the desire to win, we’ve just got to believe in ourselves and stay confident.”
Not only Inter Milan but also AS Roma, FC Copenhagen, Shakhtar Donetsk and Arsenal are competing to gain one of the remaining four spots in the competition. Many of these teams only need to avoid losing but can get by with ties to edge them in. Inter is in a more difficult situation as they depend on Tottenham to lose at FC Twente to get into the tournament.
