This year is supposed to be different. The Texas women’s volleyball team lost both NCAA finals over the last two years but 2010 is going to mark the start for a different future. “We’re the No. 9 seed overall. We’re not favored to win this. But we have a lot of confidence in what we can do as a team. This team is special and knows how to win.” Texas coach, Jerritt Elliott, said. On Thursday night they are going to face the Nittany Lions in the semi finals and show them why they are going to be victorious this time around.
Even though the past years linger on players minds coach Elliott will not remind the players of those missed opportunities. “I don’t think it’s a rallying cry,” Elliott said Wednesday. “When you look at Penn State’s program and where our program is at, and you look at the future recruits that are coming in and the players we have, this is a battle that could continue the next couple years in the final four.”
