Rich Harden will play for Oakland starting in the next MLB season next year. With $1.5 million they bought the right-hander on Tuesday and are hoping that he will regain his form after having been designated for assignment. He used to be part of the Texas Rangers but could, after his diagnosis, not convince the team enough to give him another chance. But even though he will not get one in Texas, he will in Oakland.

Not only he is exciting to get some playing time again but also his new team is looking forward to what he will add to the game. “We’re open-minded on Rich’s role here,” assistant general manager David Forst stated. “I think it will play itself out in the spring.”
