There’s a first time for everything. This time, it’s for the Nashville Pretadors, who advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in history, after beating the Anaheim Ducks in six games. The winning goal came from Nick Spaling, who scored at 4:53 in the third period, beating the Ducks 4-2.

“I’m happy and relieved, both,” Predators head coach Barry Trotz said in an interview with the Tennessean.  “Number one, I’m happy because of the resiliency and the group that worked so hard all year. And I’m relieved because there is a little bit of a cloud that we wanted to get to the next round. We’re making history. We’re a young franchise that is trying to go deep.” Trotz is the franchise’s only coach who played during the 1998-99 season.

Now, everyone is wondering who the Predators will play in the Western Conference semifinals. Stay tuned to Babbitss Sports Center to find out.
