Michael Vick was supposed to appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” but due to personal reasons this will not happen anymore. According to a show spokesperson, NFL representatives called late on Tuesday to let them know that he was not going to take part in the daytime talk show. The interview was set to come on air on Thursday, February 24th. In a statement Vick explained his reasoning and expresses his regret of not getting to talk to her. “After careful consideration, I will need to postpone the taping of the Oprah Winfrey interview,” he said. “I admire and respect Oprah and hope to be able to participate in an interview in the future.”
The topic of the interview was the pro football player’s time in prison, his return to the NFL and his involvement with the Humane Society. During his jail time of eighteen months, which he got because of a dog fighting operation on his property in Surry County, VA, he missed two seasons and was only allowed back in 2009. Since his release from prison Vick has been involved in doing public service work, such as the Humane Society.
