The Sacramento Kings beat the Phoenix Suns without De Marcus Cousin on Sunday night 113-108. In the win Donte Greene, who was part of the reason why Cousin did not make the trip, added 12 out of 19 points to the scoreboard during the fourth quarter. Him and Cousin had a fight after the team lost 99-97 against Oklahoma City at home and extended their losing streak. A Kings statement addressed the issue briefly before the game. Cousins would not play “while the organization reviews the situation that occurred in the locker room following last night’s game versus Oklahoma City.” The rookie has been averaging approximately 14 points each game but despite these respectable stats was not satisfied yet.
According to sources the dispute began by Cousins accusing Greene of not passing the ball to him to make the last and final shot in their 89-87 loss. He was convinced he would have been the better option than the one Greene chose. This might have been a valid argument as Tyreke Evans, who ended up with the ball, missed the three-pointer that would have gotten them the win. On the other hand – is it worth getting so upset about it that only a fight can solve it?
