The University of Texas Longhorns lost to the Colorado Buffalos 91-89 on the weekend. This was after a 22-point lead at the beginning of the second half. The number 5 ranked Longhorns had ambitions to be a top seed going into the playoffs but those dreams are now over. Fans fear that their team’s loosing streak might end up in the same debacle as it did last year when they lost ten games in their last seventeen. The players and coaches on the team think differently. They are not making a big deal of the slump and the last few losses. “I’m not going to overreact,” coach Rick Barnes said. “It’s basketball. I wouldn’t call it a rut.”

Instead of panicking about their next games they are going to focus on having a sense of urgency. UT’s Guard, Dogus Balbay, agreed with his coach on the matter, “We shouldn’t be worried about it.” He further added, “We should learn from it.” After beginning their season 11-0 they have lost track of how to burry teams when they step on the court. Nebraska and Colorado were able to get enough points against the Longhorns to force the upset and to remind them that they are not invincible.
